As an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho Nation, stormy friday carries forward the rich legacy of beadwork that has been passed down through generations of her family. her auntie and grandma began teaching her how to bead at 10 years old - by 12, she was teaching herself different beading techniques through trial and error.

Stormy’s beadwork is a unique blend of Contemporary and old school artistry. for stormy, the process of drawing out designs and tacking down beads feels like painting - It’s a lot of trial and error. sometimes the beads don’t fit and sometimes the rows are off, but that’s part of the authentic process, and the results are brimming with love and passion!

Stormy loves repurposing vintage accessories and using bright, sparkly colors. She gravitates towards star and mountain designs - the bigger, the better!

Stormy has recently started dipping into feather work and sewing - she is currently working on her ribbon skirt technique and looks forward to sharing them through the collective.
